Bully Dog Drag Truck

Fluidampr Joins Bully Dog Race Team

Fluidampr is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Bully Dog Diesel Drag Truck.  The 2006 Dodge 5.9L Cummins driven by Jarid Vollmer is a 9 second performance diesel truck that produces over 1,300hp and 1,450lb-ft of torque on nitrous.  Bully Dog, an industry leading manufacturer of diesel performance products, competes in the National Hot Rod Diesel Association (NHRDA) Pro-Street class, as well as the National Association of Diesel Motorsports (NADM) Unlimited events. By installing a Fluidampr Performance Diesel damper, Bully Dog will gain an edge on their competition by unleashing lost power and reducing engine wear through quality crankshaft torsional vibration protection.

Fluidampr Remains The Official Damper Of NADM

Fluidampr Remains Official Damper of NADM

The National Association of Diesel Motorsports (NADM) is one of the hottest growing outlets for performance diesel owners to put their trucks to the test in drag racing, sled pulling and dyno shootouts. Serious diesel power requires a serious damper.  Fluidampr remains the ‘Official Damper of NADM’. Diesel truck owners need not look any further than their big brother diesel engines in trucking for a testament to viscous damper protection.  Some of those guys pound out 2000ft-lbs/650hp every day with the damper only replaced around every 500,000 miles!

Not all viscous dampers are created equal.  For example, new 6.7L Dodge Cummins come stock with a viscous damper, BUT it is not a Fluidampr (Vibratech TVD) and not SFI 18.1 certified for competition.  SFI 18.1 means the damper is constructed and independently tested to withstand 12,500rpm to 13,500rpm for 1 hour!  Crazy rpms in the diesel world, but a testament to the quality an 18 to 29lb. Fluidampr Performance Diesel damper is built.  In NADM, any competition truck turning over 4,500rpm is required to run a SFI 18.1 spec damper.

3 Signs To Upgrade

Cracked, bulging and/or missing rubber are 3 early signs that a stock elastomer harmonic balancer is failing and should be upgraded to a Fluidampr performance damper.
Why?  Age and performance upgrades are the leading culprits.  Damping increased crankshaft torsional vibration can generates excessive heat that the rubber elastomer cannot readily dissipate.  As heat and age hardens the rubber it cracks, bulges and eventually crumbles apart compromising the dampers ability to adequate protect your engine.  Stock damper failure is a serious safety concern if the outer inertia ring separates from the elastomer layer and grenades inside the engine bay.

Fluidampr features durable viscous silicone, which is known to be one of the leading damping materials for superior heat dissipation and thermal stability.

Does A Fluidampr Performance Damper Affect A Vehicle’s Warranty?

The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (U.S. Code – Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312), enforced by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) outlines the effects an aftermarket part has on a vehicles manufacturer’s warranty.  In summary, a manufacturer or dealer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle.  In addition, a manufacturer or dealer cannot void or deny warranty coverage simply because someone other than the dealer did the work, unless they can prove that said work contributed.
